Expected working patterns:
37.5 hours per week
5.6 weeks paid holiday
Minimum 43 weeks (term time plus 7 weeks) - Additional weeks may be available working in our Holiday Care programme.
Additional hours by arrangement, to cover occasional weekend and overnight residentials

About the role
Copthill has built an unrivalled reputation for outdoor learning, which runs through our entire curriculum, including traditional academic subjects. Set on a 300 acre working farm the school makes full use of our unique outddor facilities, with beautiful woodlands and access to the River Welland. Person Specification:
- Practical, hands-on outdoor experience and skills, for example forestry, farming, gardening or horticulture, coupled with a genuine passion for the outdoors
- Strong organisational skills in scheduling, planning, and supporting the delivery of outdoor activity
- Excellent communication skills in working and learning with pupils and colleagues
- Additionally, qualifications and experience such as Forest School Leader, Teaching Assistant, Bushcraft, military and first-aid training are desirable, but are not essential.

Key responsibilities:
Delivering Outdoor Learning (approximately 50% of time in role)
- Planning and leading outdoor education activities across all pupil age groups, including Team building activities, Adventure Activities (e.g. sports/climbing/ water sports)
- Supporting teacher-led delivery of outdoor learning topics across the curriculum by helping teachers to prepare exciting outdoor learning sessions and assisting them deliver the practical activities to groups.
- Extending our already wide range of extra curricular outdoor activities to encompass specific outdoor skills and interests
- Assist in delivery of essential environmental projects (e.g. tree planting, bee keeping)
Outdoor Facilities Development (approximately 50% of time in role)
- Hands-on maintenance and development of Copthill’s current outdoor areas and play facilities
- Risk Assessing and prioritising maintenance of outdoor areas
- Create and maintain new environmental projects around the farm and school sites
Occasional outdoor activities
- Organising, overseeing and helping to run annual residential camps and outings
- Providing and leading staff outdoor training
- Running outdoor school holiday courses (Bushcraft/ Adventure Activities)
- Delivering outdoor sessions to visiting schools/groups/parents groups
