Freelance Instructors at TAO Activities
TAO Activities are currently recruiting to expand their FREELANCE instructor database due to significant business expansion.
The company
is after freelance staff to fulfil either or both roles within the session structure; lead instructor and/or assistant instructor.
TAO
Activities is a therapeutic and adventurous activity focused alternative education provision based primarily in Kirklees & Calderdale, West Yorkshire alongside Sheffield & Doncaster, South Yorkshire, and Bolton.
The focus is intensively on social and communication skills, building resilience, promoting independence and increasing mental health and well being for young people that struggle to access mainstream education.

1. FREELANCE LEAD Instructor Role: R.O.P. £130.00 > £150.00 per day +
reasonable expenses.
Day: 0900-1500 (term time only)
- Must have 3 NGB qualifications
- Must have a full and clean driving licence
- Must have access to a personal vehicle
- Must have experience working with young people in education
- Experience with SEND & complex needs incredibly desirable
Responsibilities include providing young people outdoors sessions inline with placement aims, EHCP and individual education plans, using the outdoors as the best possible classroom to achieve in. Liaising with parents & schools where appropriate, recording progress and mentoring young people.
FREELANCE ASSISTANT Instructor Role: R.O.P. £90.00 > £110.00 per day +
reasonable expenses.
Day: 0900-1500 (term time only)
**IDEAL FOR STUDENTS, PART TIME / CASUAL WORK / SEND EXPERIENCE**
- Any NGB qualifications desirable but not essential
- Must have a full and clean driving licence
- Must have access to a car with ability to drive
- Experience working with young people in education desirable
- Experience with SEND & complex needs incredibly desirable but not essential
Responsibilities include assisting lead instructors in their provision of outdoors sessions. This role is ideal for part time workers and especially students to compliment other work or study commitments.
Previous assistant instructors have successfully gone on to become qualified teachers, police officers, youth workers and psychotherapist through experience gained in this role.
Help with CPD, further qualifications, experience and outdoors equipment and apparel available in both roles.
