About Richard

Richard Evans, POL - Bushcraft, Survival and Wilderness Living Instructor

My love for the outside world started young,  Always being out in the woods, then with time in the cubs, scouts and army cadets.  I have always enjoyed, running, walking, camping, fishing,  and life generally  outdoors.   With this passion for being outside, it will be no surprise, that I am a fully qualified, Bushcraft, Survival and Wilderness Living Instructor and a recognised professional within the Institute of Outdoor Learning (IOL).  I find a real joy in teaching others, these soon to be lost bushcraft skills, while also looking at innovative and modern techniques for leading in the wilderness.

In support of this outside endeavour, I hold the following relevant qualifications:  NCFE Level 4: Bushcraft, Survival and Wilderness Instructor, NNAS Silver: Navigator Award,  NCFE Level 3: Land Navigation, NCFE Level 3: Bushcraft, Survival and Wilderness Living Skills, NCFE Level 3 Primitive Crafts, NCFE Level 3 Foraging, NCFE Level 3 Axe Proficiency and charcoal Making, NCFE Level 3 Animal Tracking, NCFE Level 2 Bushcraft, Survival and Wilderness Living Skills, as well as holding, Outdoor First aid, Level 2 Food & Hygiene and finally an Enhanced DBS.   My approach is relaxed and fun,  keeping the learners experience at the top of the agenda.

I also feel strongly about giving back to the community and volunteer as a bushcraft instructor for the Scouts, Old Scouts Bushcraft Club.   This allows me to ensure that the younger generation is also taught these skills and aid in their own personal development.   I also like to take part in other outdoor activities in support of good causes and charities and will continue to do so at every opportunity.

Having thirty plus years experience within Defence & Engineering sectors, up to senior management levels, I understand how to lead teams,  and coach and mentor individuals to achieve their potential.   Being Chartered through the Chartered Management Institute (CMI),  allows me to stay in touch with contemporary leadership and management practice.  With a proven track record of delivering multi million pound projects, nationally and internationally, I am no stranger to going the extra mile.

When not working I find myself out with my family and our two dogs, we are avid travellers and love camping and also going out in our camper van.   I now find myself in a lucky position,  in that I am able to combine these elements of my life and provide bespoke outdoor training programmes with a combination of;  leadership, bushcraft and Wilderness living.  Thank you for reading my short bio, and I look forward to talking with you soon, while out in the woods.

Best Wishes

Richard
