Shadwell Basin Outdoor Activity Centre provides water-sports and adventurous activities. We are open to everyone and there are lots of ways to get involved.
We organise training courses, events and sessions for groups, schools and individuals throughout the year.
We are a Registered Charity, No 293475, and rely on the support of grants and donations to continue to provide the activities at an affordable charge.
We are a centre dedicated to encourage people of all ages, background and abilities to enjoy themselves outdoors.
Based in a unique location on one of the historic docks in London, and with access to the fast moving water of the River Thames, we have the ideal conditions to provide both safe and adventurous Watersports for people of all abilities. Besides water based activities, we offer climbing sessions on our High Ropes course and climbing wall as well as mountain biking for young people.
The centre is committed to keep the activities accessible for all and to keep our instruction and the use of the facilities and equipment affordable.
We are proud of our safety record. All activities are directed by staff with nationally recognised qualifications. The Centre is recognised by the RYA and BCU as an approved teaching centre and holds a licence from the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority. The Centre is also approved as a Learning Outside the Classroom provider.
