Aim: Provide CPD, sector updates, connect and network. Includes update and workshop on the latest High Quality Outdoor Learning Guidance.

Who for: This event is open to anyone delivering outdoor learning. This is a combined event run by IOL and AHOEC (southern region).

11.15-12.45 Morning - Option 1 or 2 

Option 1 

(Practical). Practical activity sessions in programmes including “Back to Nature”, Mountain Biking Skills, High Ropes, Bushcraft. A look at how Woodrow High House operates their provision in these areas for various groups, with the opportunity to take part, reflect, feedback, and share ideas.

Option 2

Workshop 1 - High Quality Outdoor Learning - An interactive workshop/presentation exploring the conditions that encourage the achievement of quality outcomes in outdoor learning programmes. After a look at the components of practice that address the current challenges faced by our clients, participants will be invited to consider how their practice and the structures around it contribute to meeting client goals.

Workshop 2 - Nature Premium - The Nature Premium is an education proposal to guarantee regular and ongoing time in nature for all children and young people with additional funding and support to level up those with least access to nature.

Workshop (14.30-15.30) What do we mean by progression in OL and how do we achieve it?

The idea of continuity and progression in learning is a cornerstone of education practice, but how do providers of what are often unique events build that into the experiences they offer? This session will explore the thinking behind concepts of progression, and practical solutions that can be implemented in your setting.
