Outdoor Learning Practitioner with Learning through Connection

Learning through Connection is expanding its Outdoor Learning Sessions as more young people attend our outdoor sessions at our site in Cranham, Gloucestershire. We are looking for new Practitioners and Volunteers to join our team.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a vibrant, dynamic, kind, patient, open-minded and fun Outdoor Learning Practitioners and Volunteers, who really want to make a difference to the lives of young people in our pioneering Outdoor Educational Project in Nature, 3 days a week. We are looking for practitioners who are adaptable and able to co-lead as part of our dynamic and progressive team.
 

We are looking for a responsible and self aware, conscientious practitioner who has qualifications or relevant experience working with young people especially teenagers, who sees the importance of building safe connections first, before helping young people access real life applied integrative learning experiences, who will see each of their unique individual gifts and potential. You will support them acquiring and developing knowledge, skills, and relationships, going at their pace and meeting their individual learning styles. You will be alongside them, treating them with respect whilst holding appropriate boundaries. You will be able to facilitate group learning projects, working with natural materials, tools, natural building techniques, cooking on the fire, art and craft projects. All our practitioners have some experience, ability or connection to Project Based Learning, Experiential Learning, Immersive Interactive Learning and/or Elective Home Education as well as willing and able to develop themselves to meet different learning styles, stages of development, GCSE core curricula content and activities, as well as being or becoming a trauma coach.
 

We are looking for a practitioner who wants to be part of our team, long term to complete the minimum of an academic year. Who wants to train and develop themselves through their own experiences in the woods with young people and develop their knowledge, skills, and practice to bring wisdom and mastery of their role within LtC for the benefit of young people. All practitioners are required to be neurodiversity and trauma trained, aware and willing to learn and develop knowledge and skills to engage with a diverse set of neurodiverse profiles as each individual needs in line with Natural Laws.

 

This opportunity offers one, two or three days per week, 40 weeks per year.
The daily session rate starts at £120- £200 per day (8.30am-4.30pm), dependant on experience level, £14,400-£24,000 p/annum pro rata.

 

Applicants will be subject to full advanced DBS checks and will need to complete an up to date Outdoor First Aid and Safeguarding Children Training and Certificate, as well as be prepared to complete reading and further training on healthy psyche development and healing.
