We are looking for a Community Engagement, Health and Wellbeing Officer on a part-time (30.5 hours per week), permanent basis. Primarily based at our Grassington office, with the potential for some home working.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a passionate and skilled outdoor delivery team. We are looking for a creative and motivated individual who will lead on the planning, design and delivery of our health and wellbeing programmes for under-represented groups.

The Role

You will be required to use innovative ways to connect groups with the special qualities of the National Park. These informative and enjoyable activities will benefit participant’s health and wellbeing and increase the knowledge, enjoyment and understanding of the National Park’s special qualities, nature recovery and the impact of climate change. In turn, supporting people to visit independently

There will be co-design, co-delivery opportunities plus working with other teams to build and sustain relationships with diverse communities. Developing green and blue social prescribing, delivering training to community group leaders and creating resources that support independent visits will also be part of your remit.

You will be required to work weekends, bank holidays and, when appropriate, evenings, in order to deliver the activities.

About you

You will have excellent inter-personal and community engagement skills along with the experience to develop and lead quality outdoor activities that are tailored to different groups and participant needs, with a focus on promoting positive health and well-being outcomes.

If you are enthusiastic about making sure the National Parks are for everyone and understand some of the barriers, believe you can inspire people and groups to visit, connect with nature and be physically active in a way that creates a long term relationship with the Park, then this role could be for you.

Access to a car or access to a means of mobility support to meet travel demands of the post is essential (if driving must have a current valid driving licence and appropriate insurance), as you will be required to travel within the Park in order to undertake this post.
