Alternative Education Instructor at School of Outdoors
Full-time, term-time plus 2 weeks / Permanent
Are you passionate about the outdoors and making a real impact on young people’s lives? School of Outdoors is looking for a dynamic Alternative Education Instructor to deliver engaging, high-quality outdoor learning experiences for young people who may not thrive in traditional school settings.
This role is perfect for those who love working with young people, enjoy the outdoors, and want to help build confidence, skills, and meaningful connections through practical education.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Delivering outdoor education sessions tailored to diverse learning needs
- Supporting young people’s personal and social development
- Creating engaging lesson plans and ensuring safety best practices
- Collaborating with schools, local authorities, and families
Essential Requirements:
- Passion for outdoor education and youth development
- Experience delivering outdoor learning sessions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to different learning needs
- Full, clean driving licence
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working with young people in alternative education
- Qualifications in outdoor education, youth work, or teaching
- First Aid certification
- Teaching qualifications
