Head Chef Vacancy at Water Park Adventure Centre
We are currently looking for a Head Chef to join us in our lovely Outdoor Adventure Centre located on the south shore of Coniston Water, 10 mins from the A590 Greenodd.
The position involves working alongside our existing team managing the general running of the kitchen and the preparation and provision of high-quality meals, catering for groups of up to 40 adults and children. More specifically the Head Chef is responsible for the daily organisation of the team, staff rotas, catering budgets, menus and all aspects of health and hygiene in the kitchen – HACCP, COSHH etc.
The post will involve working 32 hours mid-week and one weekend a month,13.5 hours (Sunday short morning). This equates to approximately 132 hours per 4-week block; however hours are negotiable on application.
The pattern of hours is flexible although ideally it would be 3 full days 7:00am – 6:00pm; there are no split shifts.
Some flexibility is required to cover an extra monthly weekend at times – this is shared and arranged between the 3 permanent kitchen staff.
There is also the opportunity to accrue extra hours and cover holidays/sickness along with plenty of flexibility to take time back during quieter periods.
This is a permanent position. Salary offered is £16.50 per hour depending upon experience, plus company benefits package.

You should hold a Professional Catering level 2 or 3 qualification and/or be able to demonstrate experience in the industry.
The position would suit someone who is currently in a Head Chef role and is interested in working in a friendly, relaxed organisation which offers the flexibility/hours to ensure a healthy life/work balance. Or it may suit an experienced chef who is looking to take on more responsibility.
Own transport is required due to our location not being serviced by public transport.
