Notts Outdoors are looking for 3 seasonal Instructors to join their busy team in 2025.

Location: The Mill Adventure Base, Sutton In Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, NG17 4PA

Salary: £25,992-£28,624 per annum pro rata

Contract: Various options available from 14.8 to 37hrs per week between March and October 2025.

Role Dimensions

The Mill Adventure Base is a well-respected and growing multi-activity provider of outdoor and environmental education activities for Nottinghamshire County Council as part of the wider Notts Outdoors provision. The centre is based on the banks of Kingsmill Reservoir with a wide range of excellent on-site activities and fabulous countryside including the Peak District close at hand for offsite activities. 

Our team is vibrant, inclusive, and passionate about the outdoors.   

The post holder will be a key part of the team driving outdoor activity programmes, and coordinating the day-to-day running of activities while striving for high-quality outdoor learning experiences. 

The post holder will:

  • Work with individuals and groups delivering high-quality outdoor learning sessions 
  • Undertake operational support tasks such as PPE checks, activity structure and site maintenance
  • Ensure best practice in relation to health and safety is applied at all times

You will be fun, willing to innovate and not afraid of taking measured risks. 

Requirements

  • Experience of working in the adventurous and/or recreational activity sector
  • Hold current and valid national governing body awards in at least one outdoor and adventurous activity with a commitment to CPD (Mountaineering/walking, rock climbing, ERCA, paddle sports, sailing, caving) 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand or complete basic paperwork or digital forms
  • Current UK Driving Licence with D1+E – Desirable
