Fellow is IOL's highest award. It recognises people’s significant, strategic and extensive service to the outdoor sector, which has resulted in an outstanding contribution at national level. |
What do Fellows have to demonstrate? |
Fellows need to demonstrate long term influence and results at national level, an outstanding contribution in at least 2 of the following areas: INNOVATION, REFLECTIVE PRACTICE, DEVELOPING AND SHAPING/CREATING. The Review Panel will be looking for evidence that Fellows have put into practice LONG TERM VISION, they have DIRECTED and ORCHESTRATED long term change. Fellows need to have forged links, understood the influence of the wider environment, thought and acted strategically, and inspired people nationally. |
How do I apply for a Fellowship? |
Anyone holding LPIOL can apply. Fellows are likely to have been in the field for at least 15 years, and have been operating at Fellow level for about 5 years. Application is by submission of a portfolio of evidence against criteria, supported by 3 referees. Applications are submitted for deadlines once a year. Applications are considered by a Review Panel. The Panel will only very RARELY invite people for interview; decisions will be made on the strength of the written application. Click here for the Fellow Application Process |
