The IOL team

Based in our offices in Cumbria, our professional team provide services to members and support the work of the field.
Our volunteer steering group and elected board of trustees have a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of outdoor learning, from centre management, outdoor professional, teaching, youth services and HE/FE to policy decisions.

New deal for Members who are Freelance Instructors or Field Studies/Environmental Instructors

INSURANCE for FIELD/ENVIRONMENTAL STUDY FREELANCE INSTRUCTORS
A freelance instructor, just doing Field Studies/Environmental Studies, can expect to pay just £147 inc IPT (depending on satisfactory completion on the proposal form) if they are a member of IOL.

Membership of the Institute for Outdoor Learning is valid for one year and is then renewable. Membership is non transferable and non-refundable.

The Institute for Outdoor Learning is funded entirely through membership subscription and occasional generous donations from individuals who wish to help us achieve our aims. If you feel you could help us, please complete a donation form by clicking here. If you are a UK Tax payer you can increase the value of your donation (at no extra cost to yourself) by filling out a Gift Aid declaration.
