Interested in developing a career in Outdoor Adventure Activities and gaining recognised qualifications? Join a great team at Thriftwood, in the heart of Brentwood as an Outdoor Adventure Activity Instructor.

Thriftwood is set in 96 acres of private woodland and provides opportunities for young people to develop in a safe and secure environment.

Each year we recruit enthusiastic and energetic Outdoor Adventure Activity Instructors, Group Leaders, Apprentices and support staff to supervise, encourage, inspire and deliver a wide range of outdoor adventure activities.

No formal qualifications are required and full training will be given by our experienced team. You will be enrolled in the Scout Association Active Support Unit and gain recognised sporting qualifications (NGBs).

Our Activity Instructors introduce participants to a number of activities and deliver taster sessions including archery, laser quest, rifles, kayaking, orienteering, climbing, abseiling, assault courses, water roller and ropes courses as well as assisting on bush craft, and splash programmes.

We offer a great opportunity for you to start your career in the outdoors adventure industry and the chance to gain valuable qualifications and awards as you progress. With live-in accommodation in our woodland setting and food, plus salary this is an opportunity not to be missed. Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Requirements
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed instructors to join our team. You must enjoy working with children in an outdoor setting, be practical and willing to participate in a wide range of activities.

Experience of working or volunteering with Scouts, Guides or young people will be an advantage to your application, but is not essential. A level 1 coaching qualification in canoeing/kayaking would also be an advantage.

You will need plenty of energy, diplomacy and the ability to relate and confidently communicate with a wide range of clients.
